25) State Bank of India Educational loan scheme Type: Loan Scholarships
Subject: Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Medicine, Surgery, Dental Science, Agriculture, Vertinary, Management, Business Administration and other subjects at the discretion of the Bank
Duration: Unrestricted, but at the discretion of the bank
Eligibility: Applicant must
1.have obtained first class in the last qualifying exam
2. have Secured admission in a recognised University
3. not exceed 30 years of age
4. show security equal to 200% of the loan amount
5. give third party guarantee
6. assign an Insurance policy equal to the loan amount to the bank
7. undertake that he will begin repayment of the amount after 6 months of completing the course or after securing employment whichever is earlier
Features:
1. The loan will be issued in the name of the borrower in case he his an adult, if he is a minor, the loan will be issued in the name of the borrower and his parent/guardian
2.The borrower should submit a life insurance whose value will be determined by the Bank
3. The loan amount will be directly submitted to the Institution
4. The repayment starts after a year of completion of the course or after student secures an employment, whichever is earlier
5. Some conditions will be imposed by the bank (e.g. student should get 50% aggregate in semester examinations) for the continuation of the loan
6. Even if the student is going to receive any scholarships/fellowships, it will no way affects the student from receiving the loan
